Pierre Westerholm’s collection Kaskad focuses on the environmental pressures and how they affect us personally, socially and in our surroundings. The BA graduate of Beckmans has worked entirely with outdoor wear, but as hybrid garments that can withstand our stressed ecosystem and harsh climate while also affecting the wearer to feel calm and recover in times of need. The voluminous, quilted puffers with drawstring details are made from deadstock material and upcycled tents, including their hardware. The BioPuff down filling is by the British company Ponda, which has created a feather substitute, made 100% from the cattail plant. All looks are accessorised with bamboo wind chimes. They are believed to create harmony and protect against evil spirits, and their healing sounds releases stress.
